Carve the Future of Mokume-Gane with Your Hands
Introduction
Mokume-gane is a Japanese metalworking technique with a history spanning centuries, producing wood-grain-like patterns by laminating and carving layers of different metals.
To preserve and evolve this refined craft, new generations of artisans are urgently needed.
We are seeking passionate individuals to become the next generation of Mokume-gane creators—those who respect tradition and boldly bring it into the future.
This article introduces training programs specifically designed for newcomers to the craft. It outlines eligibility, curriculum, support systems, and skills you will gain, all crafted for those seriously considering entering the field.
