By master artisans

rare forged by traditional method

Unlike mass-produced products, Kunio Takada’s mokume‑gane can only be made by skilled artisans using custom tools handed down since the founding of the studio. Annual output is limited, making each piece highly exclusive. This mokume‑gane is crafted through a rare traditional forging process: red‑hot metal blocks are layered and repeatedly hammered to shape the ring.

Voices on mokume‑gane rings

Stories from customers who ordered mokume‑gane from Takada

customer voice 1

Mokume‑gane matches traditional Japanese attire

A groom who loves Japan and his wife chose a traditional Shinto-style wedding and selected mokume‑gane wedding rings made using techniques passed down since the Edo period.

They were impressed by the durability and timeless beauty of mokume‑gane. “It suits kimono beautifully!” the groom exclaimed with delight.

customer voice 2

A lifelong mokume‑gane

The couple consulting in Asakusa was an international couple: he Japanese, she French.

They resonated with our dedication: one craftsman creating both rings from a single stacked metal plate. They fell in love with this approach.

The bride chose a soft, harmonious tone that suited her well. They were thrilled and described mokume‑gane as perfect for a lifelong item.

customer voice 3

Ordered mokume‑gane from afar

This is a semi-custom product. The couple, living in Gifu, communicated via phone and email.

Since each mokume‑gane pattern is unique, we arranged details carefully. He chose stepped straight, she domed straight, both in “Mokume‑ori.”

They sent photos after delivery and seemed very pleased with the result.

customer voice 4

Traditional craft meets modern discovery

“Really? Mokume‑gane is a Japanese traditional craft? I thought it was a new technique.” These words came from a couple who chose the “Moku‑yuuzen” wedding rings.

“I wanted something cool—this was it.” They were thrilled to find their ideal rings and later exchanged hand‑drawn laser inscriptions inside with each other’s birthstones.

“Now our mokume‑gane is perfect!” they agreed many times. May their ring accompany them through the rings of their lives.

customer voice 5

No two patterns alike in mokume‑gane

This couple loves limited items and wanted unique rings. We recommend mokume‑gane for its exclusivity—only 20 orders per month and truly no identical patterns.

They were concerned about metal allergies—when told, “If allergy occurs, we refund,” they felt reassured. They chose comfortable domed straight “Moku‑yuuzen.” Since we haven’t heard from them since, all seems well!

About

mokume‑gane rings: FAQs

A

Yes.
Takada’s mokume‑gane excludes materials prone to causing allergies. We are confident in this, but if an allergy does occur, we accept returns and issue refunds.

Q

Why do you limit orders to 20 pairs per month?

A

Because we follow the same manufacturing process from the Edo period and each ring is crafted start to finish by one artisan, production volume is naturally limited.

Q
